Atlanta based artist, Sally W. Eppstein finds her inspiration in the natural world for her writing, paintings, and sculptural works.
Sally just completed her second book, Lily, and Her Critter Fiends. She was inspired to write about a female Sasquatch since there has only been little focus on the female Bigfoot. After completing her first book, Sally is excited to continue writing a series of Shesquatch and her many friends.
Throughout Sally’s career she created close-up and single-focused artworks of feathers, insects, and Spanish moss, each being fragile yet resilient. Sally received an associate degree in jewelry design and silversmithing at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. She went back to her hometown to get her Bachelor of Fine Arts at Augusta University. Sally has five commissioned sculptures in three Metro Atlanta parks and downtown Hapeville, GA, and she has exhibited her paintings throughout the southeast US. She had two residencies, one at Vermont Studio Center and a year-long residency at the Blue Heron Nature Preserve. In addition to her studio practice, she was the Art Director at the Blue Heron Nature Preserve for six years and was co-chair for the City of Brookhaven's Arts Advisory Committee.
She is very excited about having her first studio outside the home and loves the community at Guardian Studios.
